Best Buds Garden Club

Meeting Dates/Ages: Wednesdays, Grades 1-5

Meeting Place: Staff Room

Description: Students will learn the basics of gardening, and will fill many areas around our campus with spring plantings.

 

Craft Club

Sponsor: Reba Lewis; rlewis@tillerschool.org

Meeting Dates/Ages: Wednesdays, Grades K-3

Meeting Place: Ms. Reba’s Classroom

Description: Students will paint porch buoys, tic-tac-toe boards and a canvas craft.

 

Get Your Game On

Meeting Dates/Ages: Mondays, Grades K-1

Meeting Place: Ms. Janet’s Room

Description: Children will learn lots of old fashioned field games like spud, steal the bacon, relay races, pickle etc. We will have snack each time each day.Includes snack & T-shirt.

 

Theatre Club

Meeting Dates/Ages: Tuesdays, Grades 1-5

Meeting Place: Music Room

Description: Students will participate in improvisational acting exercises through movement and voice, and will build performance pieces to perform. Students will form characters, storylines and use stage action in a group performance.

 

Advanced Clay Club

Sponsor: Debbie Henderson; dhenderson@tillerschool.org

Meeting Dates/Ages: Wednesdays, Grades 3-5 only

Meeting Place: Art Room

Description: Students will learn about the use and care of clay tools, the kiln, glazes and how to manipulate clay through creating and built projects, including coil, slab, pinch pots and sculpture.

 

Yoga Club

Sponsor: Nadine Schwartz; nschwartz@tillerschool.org

Meeting Dates/Ages: Wednesdays, Grades 1-5    

Meeting Place: Ms. Nadine’s Classroom

Description: Each class will concentrate on building physical strength and flexibility, while providing students with tools for focus and self-control.*Participants must bring a yoga mat.

 

Running Club

Sponsor: Virginia Jones; executivedirector@tillerschool.org; Anna Buckner, annam1985@student.carteret.edu

Meeting Dates/Ages: Tuesdays, Grades 3-5 *Mile times required for K-2 students, if interested

Description: Members will learn effective stretching, running techniques and strategies. The club will participate in The Mosquito Run 5K race on May 6 ($33 entry fee not included). Students will receive a snack each meeting date. Please bring a water bottle!

*All clubs will meet from 3:20-4:20. Students who are not picked up by 4:20 will be placed in Tiller After School at a rate of $3/day.
