Creating Navigators for Life


Tiller School's Board of Directors has variety of committees whose purpose is to address specific topics across the Tiller campus. Committees are headed by board members, however anyone can volunteer to be a part of a committee.


Below are descriptions for each committee. We hope that you choose to contribute to a committee that interests you.



  • Academic Excellence Committee

    Meets the First Wednesday of every month at Tiller at 8:30 a.m

    Chairperson: Frank Wolff

    The committee's main role is to define what academic excellence means to The Tiller School. We work with school leadership to devise clear and consistent ways to set goals, measure academic progress, and to recommend strategies to enhance educational experiences.

    Some recent activities include:

    1. Identifying staffing needs

    2. Implementing a staff professional development policy 

    3. Developing a framework for assessing the academic performance of the school




  • Development Committee

    Meetings: Second Tuesday of every month 

    at 8:30 am

    Chairpersons: Ryan Adrick and Dena Gooding

    The development committee is responsible for raising funds to support the school's mission, establishing partnerships with the greater business community, and overseeing capital projects.

    Some recent activities include:

    1. Planning upgrades to current facility including structures and telecommunications

    2. Upgrading facility security infrastructure

    3. Fundraising 


  • Finance Committee

    Meetings: Second Wednesday of every month 

    at 8:30 am

    Chairperson: Marissa Meucci

    The Finance Committee is primarily responsible for evaluating the financial position of the Tiller School, developing long range financial forecasts and plans, and presenting funding priorities to the Board of Directors.  Some recent activities include:

    1. Researching investment strategies for surplus funds

    2. Prioritizing debt retirement strategies

    3. Developing transparent and predictable teacher pay scale

  • Governance Committee

    Meetings: First Monday of every month

    at 3:30 pm

    Chairperson: Luke Woodruff

    The governance committee assumes the primary responsibility for matters pertaining to Board of Directors recruitment, nominations, orientation, training, support and quality of experiences that allow each to grow as an individual in accordance with the bylaws of the organization.

    Some recent activities include:

    1. Updating policy documents

    2. Planning Board of Director development sessions

    3. Coordinating annual Board of Director elections




  • Health and Wellness Committee

    Meets Second Tuesday of every month

    at 3:30 pm

    Chairperson: Marissa Meucci

    The Health and Wellness committee assumes the primary responsibility for matters pertaining to Tiller School policies regarding the Health and Safety of our students and staff as it pertains to campus life. 

    Some recent activities include:

    1. Applying COVID Guidance from the State and CDC

    2. Planning for the safety and wellness of Future School events

    3. Advising the staff, Board, and stakeholders of recommended procedures, responsibilities, and facility improvements and ongoing maintenance as it pertains to the health and safety of all who attend and participate at Tiller School.
